Trials of The Past

A collection inspired by my multicultural identity, supported by unpacking personal research around historical revisionism and the effects of colonialism.
Artisanal construction and ancient techniques are incorporated to honor my ancestors and my commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
The collection comprises design elements inspired by folk costumes from the Dominican Republic, West African spiritual regalia, and 16th-17th century Southern European fashion. Its concept explores transnationalism and the deviance of religious conformities dating back to the Spanish inquisition as conceptual elements.
